We don’t talk about what rights African Americans get to have anymore. They have a right to everything everyone does. It is rightly the law. We DO talk about how they may have less opportunity, how the law is not always applied, how they face subtle discrimination, etc, and how we can make that better. Gay folks have the same rights. It’s not ok to have politicians debating what rights gay people have. It is OK to talk about how gay people face discrimination, and try to make it better. We hold these truths to be self evident… Self evident, not dependent on who has the poll numbers.

Some thoughts on our show last night. First, the sound guy Phil, at Blind Tiger, was great. That made me think of other sound people I have dealt with lately. I’ll just mention the good ones: Brian Doub at the Garage, Matthew Tuttle, Will Huneycutt have all been great. Second, my Fender bass was knocked off stage during loading, and took about a four foot fall onto concrete. It came through with only minor scratches. Third, my band mates are really talented, and finally, it was nice to see Brian Lewis
